Councillors are only supposed to be part-time - working 10-15 hours a week. For the past five years I have been doing the job nearly full time. But when my Special Responsibility was reduced last year the finances no longer add up (I receive £11.7k a year in Allowances) especially as I do not receive any pension and I need to rebuild my pension contributions. - Qualified Management Accountant CIMA with 20 years PQE experience including in large global commercial organisations
- Four Financial Controller roles including promotion to acting FD in an e-commerce organization
- One Head of Finance role for a multi-million-pound organisation
- Extensive FP&A and technical accounting experience plus month end consolidations, multi-year planning, statutory accounting, tax, treasury management, business partnering, AP, AR, audit, risk & project management, audit and general finance advice – full end to end ownership of all aspects of finance
- Experience of education, telecoms, manufacturing, transport, market research, ecommerce, local government and construction industries in the private & public sector
